Puppy Socialization Beginner Obedience Intro to Agility

Class Schedule and Registration

The Instructor for the advanced class is Betsy Dickey. After getting her first Doberman Pinscher in 1974, Betsy began training her own dogs in Obedience, going into competition and earning multiple titles on her dogs.  She has attended many training seminars over the years (often for a week at a time) learning various techniques but most importantly, how to “read” dogs.

Joining the Obedience Center in 1996 as an Assistant Trainer, she worked with the owner at that time teaching others to train their dogs.  Taking over classes herself in 2000, she has taught virtually every breed of dog and mix and every level of experience in the handlers.  As important as being able to train a dog is the ability to communicate with the owner how they can train their own dog; that is what obedience classes are about.  She has taught literally hundreds of people with puppies (10 weeks – 4-1/2 months old) and beginners (5 months and older with no training) as well as advanced puppies and advanced beginners.

“Dog training is fun and rewarding.  I love seeing the transformation from a frustrated owner with an uncontrolled puppy or dog to a happy, well-behaved team who work together and enjoy each other.  One of the main benefits of owning a dog is to have fun together without the dog taking over and that’s the result we aim for and most often achieve.”
